Sample Itinerary
Welcome to Galax! While you are here, please partake in some of the fun activities our town has to offer. If you need help getting started, we have created a sample schedule for you to use as a guide.
8 AM: Start your day off with a refreshing walk or bike ride on the New River Trail, and be sure to take in all the native plants and wildlife along the way.
11 AM: Grab a cup of coffee at one of our coffee shops, then take a walk over to Barr’s Fiddle shop to dicover the history behind the music that Galax is known for!
12 PM: Re-fuel at one of downtown’s charming restaurants. Following lunch, take a stroll down Main Street and stop in a boutique to find something nice for yourself or a loved one. Also, stop in the Visitor’s Center to say hello and recieve a FREE guitar pick.

2 PM: Attend an art class at CCSA, where you can expand on your art skills, or learn a new one in a fun, stress-free environment. Visit the CCSA lobby and admire local artists’ work and perhaps take a special piece home!
5 PM: Kick off your evening with a wine tasting and then enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Afterward, capture the charming ambiance of Main Street and snap photos in front of one-of-a-kind artwork that’s hiding around town.
7 PM: Head over to the Rex Theater to catch a live show. Arrive early to snap some photos of the beautiful marquee and the vibrant downtown atmosphere before the show begins!
9 PM: After a busy day exploring downtown, head back to your room for a peaceful evening of stargazing and enjoying the sounds of nature.
