Traphill, North Carolina, native Presley Barker plays country/blues music and is a singer/songwriter. “I enjoyed music from a really young age,” Presley recalls. “My mom liked clogging, so we were always listening to folk music.” Presley was particularly fond of Doc Watson, and started playing guitar at seven years old, It did not take him long to start getting the hang of the instrument and catching the attention of the local music community. Soon, Presley started taking lessons with Steve Lewis, a past winner of the prestigious Winfield National Guitar Championship. Presley also made frequent trips to Grayson County, Virginia, to meet with guitar builder and player Wayne Henderson. “Every time I visit Wayne, he teaches me a new tune on the guitar,” Presley says. Presley also traveled around the region to fiddlers conventions. He started entering guitar competitions and bringing home lots of blue ribbons. In 2015, at age 10, Presley won the Old Fiddler’s Convention Adult guitar competition in Galax, Virginia and won a second time in 2017. In 2017, Presley also won the prestigious Wayne C. Henderson Guitar Championship. While Presley says that the Galax blue ribbon was one of his most prized awards, the competitions are not as important as playing music with friends.

Event Details
Junior Sisk is widely recognized as one of today’s top bluegrass vocalists and is a constant reminder that traditional bluegrass is still alive and well. A longtime resident of the Virginia Blue Ridge, his bluegrass pedigree runs deep. Influenced by a father who wrote songs and played guitar and a mother who sang, Sisk first learned to play around age 14.
His early influences included The Stanley Brothers, Larry Sparks, and Dave Evans, but he often credits the Johnson Mountain Boys with inspiring him to pursue bluegrass professionally. Sisk first made his mark in bluegrass as a songwriter in the early 1990s, penning classic Lonesome River Band songs like “Game (I Can’t Win)” and “Tears Are Blinding Me.”

Savannah and Sarah, also known as The Church Sisters, grew up in Southwest Virginia. The girls began singing publicly after winning the WAKG Rising Stars Talent Competition in 2007. They went on to form a family band with their stepfather Jay and brother Seth and started touring their home state playing for small and large audiences. The Church Sisters released their first gospel album titled “Farther Along” at only 12 years old. Followed by two more self-produced albums: “There’s You” and a self-titled album. In 2012, they played for audiences across the midwest while opening for Brandon Heath on the Blue Mountain tour.
They’ve also been featured on television shows such as “Larry’s Country Diner”, “Country’s Family Reunion” and Daystar Networks “Gospel Music Showcase”. They’ve recorded albums alongside artists such as Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, Brad Paisley, and many others. Traveling to fairs and festivals nationally and internationally, The Church Sisters have made impressive appearances at venues like the Ryman Auditorium and the Bridgestone Arena where they sang backup vocals for Eric Church and Hank Williams Jr. during the 2015 CMA’s.
