Welcome to The Galax Leaf & String Festival Website! The event is hosted by The City of Galax Tourism Dept., The Galax Downtown Association/Rex Theatre, and The National Council for the Traditional Arts.

Each year, Galax, VA, designated The World's Capital of Old-Time Mountain Music. celebrates its rich musical heritage, the history of the Galax Leaf and the history of the railroad and furniture industry with this fun filled festival.

The 2007 Festival featured a Book and Author event with regional and national authors, storytelling and meet and greet opportunities.

In conjunction with these events The National Council for the Traditional Arts featured an evening concert at The Blue Ridge Music Center.
