TCRH Hospitalist Program Expands
Arthur S. “Art” Pemberton, MD, Laurie H. Jones, MSN, FNP-C and Sheila Swiger, CPC have joined Peter Kigonya, MD, SidMadhu, MD and Gil Binarao, Jr. MSN, FNP-C in the Hospitalist Program at Twin County Regional Hospital (TCRH).
Dr. Pemberton obtained his Medical Degree at the University of Tennessee-Memphis Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dr. Pemberton most recently practiced as a Hospitalist, a specialist of inpatient internal medicine, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, Virginia. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Pemberton serves as the Medical Director for the Hospitalist Program at Twin County Regional Hospital.
Laurie H. Jones obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She received her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In addition to her duties with the Hospitalist Program at Twin County Regional Hospital, Laurie practices at the Galax Family Care Center.
Sheila Swiger obtained her Certification in Professional Coding. She also received a Medical Office Certificate and a Clerical Studies Certificate from Wytheville Community College. Sheila serves as the Hospitalist Program Manager at TCRH.
TCRH Hospitalists are Internal Medicine specialists and are highly qualified physicians. Because these doctors only practice in the hospital; they are well versed in the systems and procedures of the hospital. They have become experts in managing inpatient care.
