Three forest service trails lead to different sections of the highlands area. Various loops can be made from your camp site that take in a lot of wonderful scenery. Ride to the Scales in 50 minutes or take the Iron Mountain Trail for a change of pace.
Get away from the crowds on and off the trails and have a guaranteed place to set up your campsite in an enjoyable family atmosphere.
The New River is not far away with all the watersports available, such as canoeing, swiming, fishing and more. The camp is in close proximity to Grayson Highlands and Jefferson National Park. The Virginia Creeper Trail and the Appalachain Trail are in the area for hiking and biking. Visit the 1908 Courthouse in Independance and take in the Maple Sugar Festival at Sugar Grove as well as local crafts and festivals.
Rocky Hollow Horse Camp visitors can enjoy the nearby waterfall!
