"Rhythm - N - Motion" World Champion Clogging Team comes to The Historic Rex Theater for St. Patrick's Day
The City of Galax, WBRF 98.1 FM and The Blue Ridge Music Center are once again partnering to bring you a fun filled evening!
Galax, VA - March 6, 2007: On Saturday, March 17th the Historic Rex Theater in Galax, Virginia will become the "O'Rex" Theater as the Rhythm - N - Motion Cloggers (from Cookeville, TN) celebrate St. Patrick's Day with traditional style square dance, and a-capella style dance, similar to the Riverdance.
The Rhythm - N - Motion Cloggers are the 2004, 2005, and 2006 World Champion Clogging Team. They travel across the country competing and performing in numerous shows and charity events. Rhythm-N-Motion devotes their time and talent to the passion of dancing just as the musicians of the Galax region devote their time and talent to their passion of music. They strive to preserve the tradition of clogging in all settings. You are guaranteed to enjoy a night of exciting, high-energy dancing when you come to one of Rhythm-N-Motion's performances!
The Rhythm-N-Motion Cloggers will be performing with local favorites "Broken O'Wire" (aka Broken Wire) and "The New Ballard's Branch O'Bogtrotters." (aka The New Ballard's Branch Bogtrotters) Green lemonade and will be served along with a few other Celtic surprises. This evening is made possible thanks to another collaborative effort between the City of Galax, WBRF 98.1 (Blue Ridge Country) and The Blue Ridge Music Center. Galax Tourism Director Chuck Riedhammer points out that "This is not only a great opportunity to witness the roots of our traditional dance but to see where it's going as well."
The show begins at 7 O'clock. Admission is available at the door for $5.00.
