Cliffside Cottages are located in the Blue Ridge Mountains on Cliffside Farm – a 100 year old plantation – in Galax, Virginia. Presently, Cliffside Farm has three cottages available for overnight rental. The cottages have all recently been lovingly restored. The cottages are a unique home away from home, quietly tucked away in a beautiful Victorian mountain setting. The newly renovated cottages provide a relaxing break from all of the activities the new river trail and surrounding areas provide.

The Victorian cottages are nestled in a historic setting on the nationally recognized New River Trail State Park. You literally step off of your porch and onto the trail.

The New River Trail State Park was once a busy railroad track for southwest Virginia railroads. With the tracks removed, the trail has become a popular state park. The multi use park, which winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains along Chestnut Creek and the beautiful and historic New River, is a delight for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Other opportunities located near the trail and Cliffside Cottages are trout fishing, bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, picnicking, or just plain relaxing. Horseback riding and bike rentals are available. The area is also well known for antique collectors and old time mountain music enthusiasts. The New River and Blue Ridge Parkway are both within 15 minutes of the cottages.

The units all have porches and decks where you can sit in a comfortable wicker rocker and enjoy the beautiful wildflowers, gardens and mountain scenery in a spectacular location. Each cottage has an old time charm and is decorated with antiques and cottage comfortable furnishings. Come and enjoy the mountains in a historic setting.
